Church History and Affiliation

Harlowe Community Chapel Church derived from Harlowe Mission. Harlowe Mission derived from a small group of people in a home of Deacon Isaiah and Rev. Mizella McCabe.

In December 1988, the Lord spoke to Rev. Mizella McCabe and told her to begin having prayer meetings in her home. She was to invite all who were led to attend. Rev. M. McCabe and her husband Dec. I. McCabe did not hesitate to do what the Lord told them to do. Services were held weekly on Thursday nights. During one of those spirit-filled services, the Lord spoke again and gave to Rev. M. McCabe the book of Nehemiah. Emphasis was on the second chapter because it was the lord said that this second chapter would be the foundation upon which Harlowe Mission would be established.

Rev. M. McCabe did not know at this time that God would expand Harlowe Mission into something far more than could ever be imagined. Imagined. Prayer kept going forth and the Holy Spirit kept moving and inspiring every step of the vision. As the lord would speak, Rev. M. McCabe would obey. Those whom the lord led to be a part of this vision and ministry were/is with her every step of the way.

Time passed, and soon the prayer meetings’ attendance grew; so the meetings had to be moved. Prayer went forth and the Lord spoke and said to have the services moved to the local community center. The Lord was already ahead of us, He moved upon the hearts of the people and the center was available with no complications. Through there have been fiery trails and attacks, the word remained in the hearts and minds of Pastor M. McCabe and the others; “I am about a GOOD work and I can’t come down.” That was the theme then; so it is now.

We were known as Harlowe Mission from December 1988 to March 1991. It seemed as if the Holy Spirit was waiting for us to arrive because as soon as we’d began praying, praising, and worshipping God, the Spirit would move so mightily in our midst! Rev. M. McCabe had received the vision from God in this space in time; that is, God wanted her to reach out to a community lost and hurting – a community In need of reconciliation to God.

In the year 1992, God gave a dream; and within that dream, the letters H. C. C. were seen in gold. Under these initials, the words Harlowe Christian Chapel were written. The dream was told to Rev. M. McCabe and of course, desiring to fulfill all the Lord wants her to do, she and the prayer group stormed heaven. The Lord confirmed the meaning of the dream and thus, Harlowe Community Chapel was born. That was not all that God had in store. As He elevated the ministry and took it to another level, He also moved Rev M. McCabe to the level of Pastorialship.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to be a church of grace-filled people, empowered for community transformation, so that the Gospel is faithfully transferred from person to person and generation to generation. As Jesus Christ works in and through us to fulfill our mission and pursue our vision.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

God is one being in three persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the source of all creation (Gen. 1:1; John 1:1-2), which He sustains (Col. 1:17) and is in the process of redeeming (Rom. 8:19-22). God the Father loves us and desires that we have fellowship with Him as His children (I John 1:3).

OUR PASTOR

Rev. Mizella Mccabe has been pastoring since the early 90s alongside with her husband Deacon Isaiah Mccabe.
